We’re Hiring: Assistant Hotel Manager

Boutique Hotel Wanapa | 32–40 hours per week
Start date: February - March 2026
Location: Boutique Hotel & Restaurant Wanapa is looking for an enthusiastic and hands-on Assistant Hotel Manager to join our team. This is a key role within our small scale boutique hotel, ideal for someone who combines operational strength with creativity, leadership, and a strong sense of hospitality.

You will work closely with our other Assistant Hotel Manager + the Hotel Manager and play an essential role in the daily operations, guest experience, team coordination, and the continued development of Wanapa as a unique boutique destination.

Your Role

As Assistant Hotel Manager, you are co-responsible for the day-to-day operation of our 11 room boutique hotel and act as a natural host and leader within the team. You are visible on the floor, comfortable with responsibility and involved in all operations.

Together with your colleague Assistant Hotel Manager you will share the following responsibilities:

Front Office & Guest Experience

Handeling front desk operations, including check-ins and check-outs
Acting as a key point of contact for guests before, during, and after their stay
Ensuring a consistently high level of personalized guest experience
Handling reservations and guest communication via email, phone, and booking platforms

Operations & Team Coordination

Coordinating daily hotel operations
Supervising and instructing the housekeeping team, including quality control of rooms and public areas & daily/weekly cleaning schedules
Assisting during breakfast service when needed to build relationships with our guests and answer all of their questions.

Marketing & Social Media

Managing and creating content for social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
Supporting online visibility, branding, and guest engagement
Assisting with promotions, storytelling, and maintaining the boutique identity of Wanapa
Working together with external partners (photographers, designers, content creators)

Banqueting & Events

Organizing and coordinating small-scale events, private dinners, retreats, and special occasions
Acting as point of contact for event guests and external partners
Ensuring smooth execution from planning to on-site coordination

Management Support

Acting as the first point of contact in the Hotel Manager’s absence
Contributing ideas for improvements, efficiency, and guest satisfaction

Who You Are

A natural host with strong organizational and leadership skills
Someone who values teamwork, open communication, and a positive working atmosphere
Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable taking responsibility
Strong communicator in Dutch and English (spoken and written) basic Spanish is a nice bonus and helpful in daily operations, but not a must.
Experienced with hotel systems, reservations, and day-to-day operations
Creative and confident in managing social media and marketing content
Experienced or highly interested in event and banqueting coordination
Someone who thrives in a small, dedicated team and enjoys variety
Experience in a similar hospitality or management role is a strong advantage

Requirements

A valid sedula or Dutch/American passport, preferably already living on the island for 1+ year
Willingness to register and reside officially on Bonaire
Availability from February/ March 1st

Are you a seasoned hospitality professional with a passion for fine dining and perhaps even sommelier experience? Boutique Hotel & Restaurant Wanapa is looking for a skilled and passionate individual to join our front-of-house team and help elevate our guest experience to the next level. You will be working in an intimate, high-quality setting where attention to detail and genuine hospitality are key.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

You are confident, professional, and guest-focused, with a strong background in fine dining service. Wine knowledge or sommelier experience is a big plus, as you will play a key role in guiding our guests through their culinary experience. This role is perfect for someone who wants to be part of a small, passionate team and bring a personal touch to every service.
